The Surrounding Area

As you enter the grounds of Thief Hole Luxury Cottages you can be forgiven for gazing at the stunning views across the North Yorkshire countryside. The beautiful rural setting offers the double attraction of being close to everything that guests might need, while also presenting an idyllic, peaceful retreat.

The location of Thief Hole Cottages offers easy access to the whole of North Yorkshire and beyond. The nearby market town of Northallerton plays home to the famous Bettys Tearooms, Lewis & Coopers Food Emporium as well as Barkers Department store. Just 10 minutes drive away is the market town of Thirsk, home to the James Herriot Museum and Thirsk racecourse.

The Yorkshire Dales and the North Yorkshire Moors are within easy reach for you to enjoy the spectacular countryside. In less than an hour you will find yourself enjoying the beautiful coastlines of the fishing town of Whitby or the traditional seaside resort of Scarborough.

Closer still you will find the beautiful market town of Helmsley which is only 19 miles away on the road between Thirsk and Scarborough. Home to an abundance of quaint shops, tearooms and family attractions, Helmsley is a fabulous day out.
